He had been sitting here outside the house for hours now, trying to force himself to a decision. He knew he was ready to make a move. But what move, in which direction, when he was unable to think of the reasons for it? All he knew was that he must advance and that any advance would bring him face-to-face with things he would rather not know.

I can give you all the advice you want as long as you don’t expect me to follow it.

In defense of emotion. Sort of.

We choose how much of the world we want to let into our lives. Both the beauty of it and the horror of it. There has to be a point of insulation—but some of us insulate real close, right down to our very selves, and others insulate wider, let more of the world in.

Fiction is not a fad. It is a human survival strategy.

This is my survival strategy. I don’t know what I would do if there was no such thing as making things up. Fiction is how I understand truth.

but this has nothing to do with TiNeSiFe.
I don’t know whether this is “INTP behavior” or not, but I do it all the time. So there.

Why is this picture arresting?
Man/Wolf looks at the viewer, clearly controlling/possessing the female, who is both topless and facing away from the viewer. On her back are red leafless trees, the same as the background. The lack of expression makes this picture confusing—is he protecting her? Is he hurting her? His fingers are digging into her back and leaving marks on her skin. Is she afraid of him or relying on him? Are the red trees on her back a symbol of the wildness and bleakness inside of her, or is she bleeding? Is this about protection or controlled aggression?
I don’t know, but I like it anyway.

Sample conversation:
I need to borrow the car tonight. I’ll take dad’s car if I leave before dinner.
To dad: “When are we having dinner?”
Him: “You’re hungry already?”
The beginnings of a lovely miscommunication.
