au where tony is a really avant garde michilen star chef who does crazy shit with LIQUID NITROGEN and FOAMS and MENTAL TASTE COMBINATIONS and steve is a classically trained chef who has turned his back on the snobbery of the classical kitchen to make food affordable and bruce is one of those guys who seems super quiet but once he’s in the kitchen he shouts at you in french and throws pans everywhere and shit and shield is a really weird high concept restaurant where like all the food is served in the dark and the menu is a secret and natasha and clint probably COOK IT IN THE DARK TOO and obviously thor is making BIG BOLD TRENDY NORWEIGAN FUSION FOOD NEW KID ON THE BLOCK OOH
and they all unite against loki who is an overly critical food critic I guess
Monsters, Inc. provides such a good example of social construction. Children aren’t toxic, but the monsters have always been told they are, so they believe it until Sulley proves otherwise. A child coming into their world was their worst nightmare because they were so misinformed, proving that education about and tolerance for those who are different is key in breaking down our oppressive social constructions.
i really like the thought that derek hale is disgustingly good at board games and no one expects that
like just imagine him demolishing everyone at risk or cluedo with a totally serious face and it ends up everyone vs. him because they’re determined to take him down but they cant and thatS WHY HE’S ALPHA
Except he just can’t win at The Game of Life.
Forget Risk and Clue, I want fic where Derek trounces everyone at Settlers of Catan. Scott can’t figure out how he ended up with so many untradeable sheep, neither Isaac nor Erica can figure out the conversions, and everyone spent the game screwing with Stiles by refusing to trade with him. Except for Scott but Stiles doesn’t want his stupid sheep. Next time they invite Allison, who presents more of a challenge.
And then it turns out that Derek is somehow (somehow!) really good at getting people to win at co-op games. And THAT is why he’s alpha.
Because in my experience, the only thing that you get for winning at Risk is a bunch of sworn enemies.
