Monsters, Inc. provides such a good example of social construction. Children aren’t toxic, but the monsters have always been told they are, so they believe it until Sulley proves otherwise. Critical Analysis for the win!

but I keep having to pause it every time the dialogue gets too ridiculous, which makes for very Very VERY slow going. 

And I caught this gem of a reaction when Dean announces that, since all his scars and badly-set bones were healed when he was, ah, reanimated, that means he’s a virgin now too.

Possibly the best part of this episode is the fact that the sausagefest show is at an actual sausage festival.

Except he just can’t win at The Game of Life.

Forget Risk and Clue, I want fic where Derek trounces everyone at Settlers of Catan.  Scott can’t figure out how he ended up with so many untradeable sheep, neither Isaac nor Erica can figure out the conversions, and everyone spent the game screwing with Stiles by refusing to trade with him.  Except for Scott but Stiles doesn’t want his stupid sheep.  Next time they invite Allison, who presents more of a challenge.

And then it turns out that Derek is somehow (somehow!) really good at getting people to win at co-op games.  And THAT is why he’s alpha. 

Because in my experience, the only thing that you get for winning at Risk is a bunch of sworn enemies.
